Farm Sale Junk

I hope you all had a fun weekend and maybe even did a little junk shopping!

In spite of the extreme humidity that nearly sent us home early I still managed to acquire more junk this weekend at the farm flea market.
How could I walk away from this window! It was the first thing I found and the vendor 'worked' with me on the price a little bit (after I did some whining).
It has 30 panes of glass and they are all there and not cracked, just needs a little cleaning and oh how I love to wash windows with wood dividers!

Two of the little table legs are broken but what a cool garden piece.

The round metal wire thing below, and it's heavy, was from a corn crib, something to do with venting but I see sweet peas climbing up this someday.

I have wanted an old grocery cart for the garden. I've seen a few in antique shops but the prices were nuts plus they were the grown up size. This child's size cart will look cute filled with flowers and the price was decent.

Ah yes, the metal parts cabinet...this actually was found the day after at a guys garage sale (20 bucks...really cheap!).
It was still hanging on the wall full of screws, nuts and bolts. The sellers kindly offered to remove all the stuff and take it off the wall.
This is one heavy old cabinet and with a little 'degreasing' could look pretty cool!

How often do you see a pink Tonka toy truck with camper! She's a little rough and missing a few windows but I just had to bring her home. She's got all her tires and runs like a charm!

Then there's the cast iron harness hooks I can never pass by, they make great flower basket hangers.
I have wanted one of these cast iron horse heads for the Wyoming bunkhouse.
Our neighbor occasionally drops by riding her horse, now she'll have a place to tie him up once it's attached to a post.

And a few dollar items, my favorite is the cast iron bird  that broke off of something plus I can always use glass knobs.

I just realized I seem to have a cast iron/metal theme going on here

Any guess to what this thing is?

I had a hard time getting a decent photo of it.
It used to hang in a grocery store and the little clips held stuff...

I'm thinking vintage postcards or old photos would look kind of fun.

And one more thing from the guy garage sale that I really 'needed'

I've always had a thing for laundry, yes I even enjoy ironing, I like washing laundry the old fashioned way. Some of you may remember my Maytag wringer washer hoard HERE.
And yes, I still use a Maytag wringer washer when we are in WY and yes, I probably am crazy.
It's probably the most economical and water saving way of doing laundry, but that's not why I prefer it, I just enjoy it, or maybe it's an excuse to 'play' in the water.
I've been collecting laundry related things since I was a teenager.

This will eventually hang on the wall in my laundry room with the rest of my vintage laundry junk stuff treasures.

Thanks for stopping by!

Crochet Felted Bag and Flowers

It's been a long time, I haven't posted since June 1st!
There's so much going on lately and I miss my blogging friends, I haven't even been visiting your blogs for what seems like ages!

I have had a crocheting bug lately.
This is the first time I've felted yarn, I felt wool fabric all the time for my rug hooking but have never attempted this until now.
It's addicting! It was so much fun to crochet this bag/purse and flowers and go through the felting process.

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
I've been focusing on finishing some of my unfinished crochet projects this summer.
I know I'll be making at least one more of these, I'd love to do another one in bright colors and maybe a little smaller.

It's been wet and buggy this year and
as a result of all that rain, a lot of mushrooms have been popping up.

My flowers are pretty pathetic this year along with the veggie garden, it's been a lot darker in our woods than normal summers although the weeds seem to be flourishing this year!

This weekend is there is a farm flea market.
I'm looking forward to finding some treasures...like I really need more stuff!!!

Believe me, I haven't stopped shopping thrift stores and garage sales this summer! I need to get back to posting my junking finds because then I can go back to where and when I found my "treasured junk". Otherwise it's all lost! (in my poor cluttered brain! :) )

Thanks for stopping by!

I miss y'all
(yes, I've been watching Junk Gypsies...a lot!)
