Old Wrought Iron Chippy White Baby Bed

While on the way to Wyoming we stopped at my favorite South Dakota antique shop...

I always walk through the main shop, back outside and into an old barn full of 'good junk'!

But on my way to the barn I saw this old baby bed leaning against the fence. It was white at one time but the paint has yellowed and become all chippy...just the way I like it best...

On close inspection...everything was there and the tag read $25! The man said it just arrived about 2 hours ago, no way was I letting this bed go so Mr. Wild loaded it into the trailer. I also found the pretty vintage crocheted edge table cloth that I thought looked nice with the old baby bed for the picture.

I picked up a few more goodies but I'll save them for later.

Thanks for stopping by...

  18. It's so Lovely! how lucky for you. I would love this bed. I would put it in my garden and plant flowers in it. It's always good to act on instinct and buy when your gut tells you to. Once, a few years ago I passed a lovely vintage dollhouse & asked my now ex husband to turn the car around so I could buy it. He insisted that we finish our errands first and of course, by the time we returned, someone else had snapped it up :(
I'm happy to say that I'm re married now and I know my husband would stop the car in an instant! thank you for sharing, Sally xx

  27. OMG!!! This bed is fabulous and the way you have photographed it is exactly what I have wanted to do to show my bedding. It is called "Whitewashed" and is a very soft fabric that would show so nice on a bed like this. I think this is the first time I have been in your blog and I am very impressed with it. Thanks for sharing. Blessings!! Judy
