I love to crochet, I could sit for hours. I especially enjoy crocheting flowers, I have so many flowers that I'll never know what to do with all of them.
I picked up a new crochet book this summer called Crochet One Skein Wonders, mainly because of this shoulder bag pattern and that every project uses only 1 skein. I finished it and of course it needed a flower.
It wasn't a bag that I planned to use, I just wanted to make it and thought it would look nice on Miss Desert Rose plus I can still enjoy the bag.
Miss Desert Rose keeps picking up more bling and pearls!
Again, not jewelry I would wear but I enjoy seeing it sparkle especially when I turn on the chandelier...lots of sparkle!
And then a little vintage crochet lace I picked up at my favorite flea market, the second one this season. I hesitate to keep posting my junking finds but am finding out that I miss it myself, it's one way for me to remember the treasures I find. I've already been to two here and I've already forgotten what I found. This Sunday is flea market again...I plan to post my treasures!
Thanks for stopping by!
And thank you for your comments on my earlier post today. I was sort of concerned over a comment on a previous post about seeing a huge black band across my blog.
I found out it's Blogger changing things again. Thanks Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for posting the following info (you can follow the link and she explains it far better than I can. (Just in case anyone else sees a huge black band!)

"In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
And also thank you to Sherry at The Charm of Home for sending me to a beautiful blog I had never seen before!
What a bunch of super nice women who come to the rescue when something is amiss with the ever changing world of Blogger!!!

I've been knitting for decades, but I've never learned to crochet anything but a chain stitch. A headband I finished needed a crocheted flower, so the owner of the yarn shop where I joined a knitting group announced that she would teach us to crochet next week. I'm so excited that I'll be able to make those pretty crocheted flowers, too!! Your bag is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty, Faye! I love how you are displaying all of your bling so prettily...mine is just set on a tray. I need to do something like you. The crocheted bag is charming with the sweet flower!
ReplyDeleteDear Faye,
ReplyDeleteI never learned to crochet because my mother never learned. But my niece taught herself off the internet and now she is winning prizes at our Fair in the summertime. I absolutely adore crochet! Your little bag adorned with the flower is adorable! I like all your bling on Miss Desert Rose too. Thanks for sharing with us and have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Miss Desert Rose is lovely, and so is her new crochet bag she is sporting! I wish I could crochet...but alas...that is something I never learned to do. You do such a wonderful job, Faye!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the Flea Market! You always find the neatest "stuff"!!
Smooches.
