Happy Easter!

I didn't plan ahead so my Easter stuff is back in MN. This is what I came up with...
A little stuffed bunny,

A little vintage chick and 2 egg cups from a flea market trip recently,

pretty daffodils,

and tulips.

And my new crochet project. When I chose the colors I never had Easter in mind but I love lavender and yellow together so that is what I picked out at the store.

It does have a Springy Easter look!

I found it on Pinterest (where else!) It's called Flowers in a Row and I've included the link to the pattern HERE.
It's super easy to make, and I mean easy! So if you are a beginner this is a great project. If you are more advanced, it's still a really fun throw to crochet, it moves along quickly.
There are endless color choices...I already have a second color theme in mind!

Happy Easter!

Where does the time go?

Days are flying by so quickly!
I intend to post but time just gets away from me.

I found a very good monthly flea market in Tucson with very good prices.

I think I scored on this old table at $30!
It's very heavy and very old, the top two boards have separated but a vintage embroidered table cloth will fix that.

I'm thinking it may end up in my bedroom, I'm still painting and arranging things. I have new carpet in the living room and master bedroom plus freshly painted walls and the linen closet in the master bath is almost finished.
The rest of the rooms will have to wait for paint until next winter.

I think I also really scored on this Victorian wicker table, there isn't a single broken or cracked piece on it. I paid $20 for it and I'm almost embarrassed to say what I saw the exact same thing priced at on some online antique site, it was way in the upper $100's which I still won't believe.
(plus the one online had been repaired!)

I still need to find just the right thing to display on this.

A pair of milk glass lamps for each side of the bed
$10 for the pair in great condition and all I have to do is rewire them.
I'm slowly getting things in order and hopefully looking good enough for pictures.

For those of you not familiar with my blog, I'm attempting to decorate our winter home on a flea market budget, nothing over $100!

Now this is what happened 3 weeks ago...here in Tucson!
I measured 5"
(it only took a day to melt! And this is not normal for here)

Above is the view off my front porch looking north,
the next two are on the property also looking north.
In the distance is part of the Rincon Mountains and also the southern end of Saguaro National Park East.

But this was taken today!
There are 2 trees leafing out, I have no clue what they are yet.

How can that be only 3 weeks apart!

I was in town yesterday I saw bushes blooming, one was yellow and another was lavender and not a lilacs (they won't bloom here). I'm anxious to learn what these different blooming plants are.
I also stopped at a nursery and was in shock at all the blooming plants all ready to go.
I have been a gardener all of my life and it was sooooo hard to not bring home one of everything but until we get the watering system redone I best not plant any more flowering plants...or palm trees (I desperately want more of them) unless it's cacti.
That sure is hard for me to resist!

Seeing blooming plants and nurseries full this early is just too much excitement for this old northern gardener!

It's 82 degrees right now, crystal blue skies and beautiful! I'm lovin' it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thrift store finds and a little snow on the cacti!

Here we go...I'm back at it.
I'm getting to know my way around a new town, mainly the thrift shops, flea markets, stuff like that...the important places!

Not a lot of luck at the thrift stores but I took a chance on this bag of lace, it was all jammed in there so tight and nothing extremely pretty was showing....

(I didn't notice the price tag wasn't really showing up when I took the picture but it reads mens $3.99)

out popped all of this gorgeous lace...

I'm not very knowledgeable about lace other than crochet and tatting...

My most favorite thing was this tatted doily measuring 8" across...

and this very delicate lace circle measuring 22" across
(pictured below)
I have no idea what type of lace and if anyone is a lace expert out there I sure would like to know what this is called.

A couple of crochet pieces, everything is in great condition, I wonder where they came from and who the woman was that made these, or owned them.

Now as for where I am...

What's that? Snow on cactus?
We found a steal, and I mean a steal, of a deal on a house on 6 acres in southern Arizona...totally by accident and the way it all happened...I believe it was meant to be.

But snow?
This was a snowy day here and the view to the north from our front porch.
This is part of the Rincon Mountain range, looking at the south end of East Saguaro National Park.

One morning I awoke to this sky! No tweaking here...this is for real.

Mr. Wild is back in MN but I'm staying here for a few months and painting, arranging..stuff like that. The house needs a little bit of attention so that is my job.
I've met several neighbors, super nice neighbors. The gals have taken me on walks to show me where all the best hiking trails are. I'm trying to make myself get out every day and walk to get back in shape.

But enough of the snow already! They are forecasting it again for Wednesday.
Otherwise it's sunny and warm, quiet as can be except for the birds during the day and the coyotes at night. (And there are a lot of coyotes...could that be why they named it Coyote Creek?) Poor kitty does not go any further than the porches and only if I am with her.

The plan is to decorate on a flea market budget. There was an article in one of the decorating magazines that caught my attention (I wish I could remember which one) the woman never paid over $100 for anything for her home and that is my inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentines Day!

Okay, I am still bogged down with too much happening in my life...all good stuff...but a lot of new stuff. (Eventually I'll post about it). Just a few minutes ago I went through my small stash of Valentine cards and pulled a few to post.
I found about 5 large zip lock bags of vintage cards at the Oronoco Gold Rush days last August for $1 a bag! I found one card that had a woman's face hand painted on silk and in perfect condition, I've never seen that before.
So here are a few older Valentine cards that I thought were the best out of the bunch.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Valentines Day!

Never enough time....

So much has been going on!
I keep thinking I will have time to blog but lately I just can't find the time.
I miss you all and I do stop by and check out your blogs now and then, most of the time I don't even leave a comment....but I am trying to keep up with what you all are doing.

I just found this pretty little heart at Graphics Fairy
I can't even stop to take a picture of my own vintage Valentine cards!

I can't believe more than a month has gone by since my last post, I never thought that would happen!

Hope everyone is well!
I will try to be back soon.
