I'm back in Minnesota and recuperated from my 1700 mile trip safe and sound.
I'm slowly catching up with everything here. Mr. Wild built a raised bed for my garden and I planted the veggie garden yesterday just before the heavy rain. We had 6.7 inches of rain between midnight and 8 am this morning. We went for a walk in our woods this morning and discovered portions of our long driveway are partially washed out. We can still get in and out but it's a mess, just one more thing to add to the long To Do list!
One day last week I decided to see if I could make this old chippy white bench look better.
I found the bench about 20 years ago at a barn sale in South Dakota. It's been moved around a lot in those years but once we added on the screen porch it finally made a permanent home in there.
And with succulents everywhere, I couldn't resit a few more.
I purchased the larger plants at a nursery and Mr. Wild brought the small cuttings home from work.
The cement urns were a steal last year at the Arizona flea market...$15 for the pair!
Had a little fun with this broken old truck spring found in an abandoned dump in Wyoming.
Our ferns are so pretty...well they were until the deluge of water.
And Thursday I stopped at 3 garage sales.
The picnic basket was only 3 bucks and in great shape. I've wanted one for my vintage camping trailer but I was too cheap to pay antique shop prices. I guess if you wait long enough it eventually shows up!
I collect the little green enamelware teapots and also the chipped edge shaving mirrors...love this one! Everything was .50 cents to $4.
And for some reason I just liked this little gardening pin.
Just for the fun of it...parts of our driveway from the heavy rain....
(several more inches of rain is in the forecast)
Looks like we live in a jungle, feels like it today!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Glad to hear you made it safely home. Sounds like you've been super busy since you arrived. I love the picnic basket as well as the other goodies you found. Your bench is just lovely and I am envious of the deal you got on those urns! Hope you are able to get the road repaired soon. Your area looks as woodsy and remote like mine...lots of upkeep! But, I do love it. Have a blessed week...Vicky
ReplyDeleteHooray you are home! LOVE your screened porch! Looks like a great place to enjoy summer! Good prices on your purchases! I had my garage sale on Thurs/Friday and it went very well :)
ReplyDeleteNOW, getting ready for the bridal shower! Where am I going to put 25-30 people????

It looks so lush and green. Your porch is very pretty and I love the gardening pin.
ReplyDeleteYour potting bench is looking good! Glad you made it home in one piece. I had no idea it was that far!
ReplyDeleteLove the finds - especially the pin. I would steal the bench - perfect chippiness, but I am too far away :>)
ReplyDeleteThe bench looks great with all your plants on it. That's too bad about the rain damage to your driveway. Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Deborah
Sure is pretty out your way...you had a little more rain than we did, though. Everything is so green now!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your wonderful finds...and the bench is beautiful!
That little pin is a charmer! The good news is... you had rain. That's the way I try to look at things when it is rainy and gloomy. (Sorry it washed away part of your driveway though!) Love the picnic basket too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Faye, that little bird bath with the house in it is the cutest thing I've ever seen!!! You decorated the bench so cool with all of your succulents. LOVE the urns!
ReplyDeleteYou found some great treasures at the sales...but you always do.
Wow! I can't believe all the rain you guys got in such a short period of time.
You must have tons of mosquitoes!!
I'm glad you are getting some decorating, and gardening done. I know that keeps a smile on your face.
Love to you, sweet friend.
