Cold and windy farm flea market

It was a bitterly cold and dreary day on Saturday but we went anyway.
Once a year there is a monster sized flea/swap farm event.
It's free to get in and it covers acres, it's mostly tractors and farm equipment out in the field but there are a few vendors under the trees that will bring things for the women to shop for.
Mr. Wild went his way and I went mine.

The last thing I found was the old birdhouse, loved the hinged door with the bent nail to twist to keep the door shut.
Porcelain door knobs for $3 a pair (I can never resist them), some old coat hooks and the odd cast iron piece painted white, a perfectly rusty heavy old farm bucket, and a pair of old cast iron shelf brackets.

My favorite find was the toy horse. A man had a couple of boxes of very old broken toys so I rescued the white horse.

This vase is marked Hull USA B37, it was only $5.
Still not sure if I love it or hate it! It's a bit busy for my taste but I think it will fit in with my shelf plan.

Since I discovered Camark pottery I am beginning to recognize it. A man had $2 on this perfectly sweet little butter yellow vase. I just saw a green one listed online for $20 so I was pretty happy with this treasure.

I've been watching for an old table to put between my old metal chairs...found one!
Not sure if it will stay rusty or maybe it will get a new coat of paint. I like that it's height adjusts.
This table was the most expensive thing I bought at $12!

And a bottle box, no name on it but I loved the cubbys.
This will make great storage for wood spools of old lace.
Wonder if I should paint it or leave it?

Next year...IF we go, it will have to be decent weather.

Now I really need to quit shopping and get this stuff put where it belongs...why are flea markets so darn much fun! My flea market treasures from last weekend are posted here and here.

Did you find any treasures this weekend?

  3. Hi Faye, Im not turned on by a rusty farm bucket but if it makes you happy, then it makes me happy. I'm more like he crow who like her bucket shiny, lol.

Sorry that the weather was so cold. It must have been disappointing for the vender also. Better luck next year.

  11. I would have bought the same things. I'm always looking for door knobs and rusty buckets. I have that same round white table on my patio. I spray painted it a few years ago, but gave up and accepted the rust that keeps popping through.
