More treasures from the flea market

It was a perfectly beautiful day today. We had a slow light rain last night but the sun broke out this morning.

The first wren showed up today (about a week early) so I started putting out wren houses. I like to circle the house with bird houses hoping to fill them up with wrens. Then I have stereo wrens singing all summer!

I can't wait for them to come back each spring. I also set up a new set of houses when the babies are about the leave the nest. I hang one near their current home hoping they will start over again with a second batch and half of them will.

Okay, as promised...here is more of my loot from this last weekends flea market!
PS... My white finds from this flea market were posted yesterday here for White Wednesday.

My two most favorites besides the Italian tole tables is this beautiful blue Camark pottery piece.
Silly me...I must be out of the loop...I had never heard of Camark pottery until that day.
I love this thing!

And in the same booth was this beautiful Hubley door stop that I could not walk away from.
Guess I have a thing for blue lately!

Outside was a woman who must have wanted to just get rid of stuff. This large and very heavy mirror was marked $12 and before I could barely say anything she said I could have it for $8! I told her I would have paid the $12 but she said no.
I immediately thought how pretty it would be painted and antiqued white especially with the silvering turning bad in a few spots.
I brought it home and to my surprise Mr. Wild said it would look good in the bathroom above the sink (in the new home we plan to start building in a couple of years)
Works for me!!!!

Mirror detail...

A few old wood pieces I can either leave as is or paint, great little display pieces.

It was hard to get a good picture of this but it must be about 7 to 8 feet long. This will make a great hanger for things in my workshop.

It's painted the most beautiful shade of turquoise green and all crackled and chippy.

A display basket that I will paint white and use to keep my vintage crochet laces.

And here are the awesome Italian Tole tables....
One of them even still had the metal Made In Italy tag on it!

I don't know if anyone else will like these as much as I did but I just love them!

They are not easy to photograph so I set them on the front porch on some wrinkled muslin. They are back in the screened in porch until I can find a place for them in the house.

As soon as I saw them I thought of my mother..she would have given anything to own these!

I saw them the first day but passed on them. When I came back the second day they were still there and she lowered the price. (she did not want to pack them up again) I still didn't buy them but I did come back and hour later and she then lowered the price again...what could I do!!!!

I found one table on the internet for sale for $295...way too much plus it was missing a rose!
I didn't pay any where near that price...not even close!

My tables are perfect and look like they were never used.
If you click on a picture to enlarge it, they will look so much better.

Thanks for stopping by!

Beware...the deer ticks are out in full force this year. I've been finding them on me already.

  2. Hi Faye, how nice that you found all those things that you can put to good use in your home. I think that you are creative to be able to envision how they will look.

Are you concerned that you may contract Lyme disease if you get bitten by one of those deer tick?

Have a great middle of the week. JB

  8. Wow, you found the most awesome things at the flea market. I just bought a little tole table like you found, only the base of tole roses is painted. It's in a post I recently did called "rainy day bling." I love it too.
