Flea market was this weekend again.
It rained all day the day before and most of the night, I thought for sure it would be cancelled but I figured what the heck! Sure enough I got there shortly after 6 am and people were already going in.
Sure glad I went because almost immediately I found this beauty!
I wanted a vintage chandelier for the bedroom, I never really expected to find one here but there it was and the tag was very fair but the nice man came down even more.
I can't find a single chip or missing piece, and it's not even dusty! It's in great shape and hanging on a hook until Mr. Wild wires it up for me. (And of course I need to find the correct light bulbs, I'm thinking those pointy ones that are supposed to look like a flame.)
Then after I was all finished looking and taking a break back at my truck I thought, it's only 9:30, way too early to go home so I walked back in and found this.
I had walked right past it earlier because I was too busy looking the vintage radio sitting on top of it.
I know it may not look like much here but this little old chest of drawers is going to be a blast to fix up. It's all wood and in great condition other than it was covered with fabric and the darker drawers is where the fabric has been pulled off and the old glue is visible.
I'm thinking vintage wall paper in all different prints!
And pretty drawer knobs.
My friend said I can keep my vintage laces and treasures inside...great idea!
Then everyone had cowboy boots for sale this time. I've wanted a white pair for the Wyoming bunkhouse bathroom and this was the perfect "fit".
I love all the fringe!!!
I found more treasures but didn't take pictures of everything but funny how most of the stuff is white!
A pair of heavy wrought iron wall planters
And a couple of ironstone pitchers, the one on the right is a big one although you can't tell here
It's such fun to go to these things because you never know what surprise you will find!
You may not find what you were looking for that day but then all of a sudden something else pops up that you did want only it wasn't on your mind that day.
Like that small chest of drawers, once in a while I see them on Etsy and they are not cheap!
I never in my wildest dreams expected to find one at this flea market! And then to think that I walked past it a few times and didn't even notice it!
And yes, I know...more flea market "junk"...but this is how I'm decorating the Arizona house...on a flea market budget.
One of these years (soon I hope) I'll have all the rooms finished and then I'll show it off, that
is, if it looks good enough to show!
What fun surprises have you found at flea markets that you never expected to see?

I LOVE that little chest of drawers! Your chandelier is perfect! I went to an estate sale on Saturday and it wasn't great :( Can't wait for garage sales and the flea market!
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
Oh, the chandelier! Love the crystal drops. You could use it with or without shades. Hobby Lobby has shades. And the ironstone pitchers. Saw one at a thrift store for $3.00. Told myself I didn't need it. Then I saw it in another woman's cart, and thought, "Why didn't I pick that up?" I could have kicked myself! Moral: Buy it when you see it! Love the wall planters, too.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the little chest of drawers, too. I haven't seen one with the top drawer like that.
ReplyDeleteThere's only one flea market a year in our area, but after seeing your treasures, I wish there were more! That chandelier is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHi Faye...love your finds and those boots are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS walk around a flea market or thrift store or garage sale twice now...I have found my best stuff that way. Your finds are fabulous! Love the boots! I recently found a 1962 bronze statue of The Thinker at a thrift store.....really neat but I am going to sell it! Visiting from Treasure Hunt Thursday
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I love that little chest of drawers. I have seen them here and there, and they are expensive. I missed one on e-bay, and it sold for only 9.99! I have to keep looking. I can't wait for the garage sales and flea markets!
